Ancestors of Orvie Britson
Orvie Britson is my grandfather. He is the son of Peter Sjur Britson, who came to America from Norway in 1858, with his sisters and parents. The story of that journey is told in fictional form at; Sjur and Martha come to America.
His mother, Sara Olena Lydersdtr Britson, came to America from Norway as a widow with her three sons in 1876.
Peter and Sara married in 1884 and settled in Lincoln Township, Hamilton County, Iowa, just west of Radcliffe, Iowa.
